There is surely something to be said about community. In the past 4 months, we have laughed about things nonsensical. We have grieved the hard losses. We have been in the presence of the Holy Spirit together. We have been through rough times doing ministry and have faced unexpected changes along the way. We have found common tastes in food and music- especially of the southern persuasion.   😉

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in community!

Psalm 133:1

Community is hard. It’s not always sunshine and daisies. Despite the difficulty of living with people you’ve never met before for 9 months, often times in closer quarters than we live with our families back home, we have created a family.

I thank God for this family almost every day. The fact of the matter is that some of my favorite moments in ministry are with these people-ministering to one another and ministering to others as a group. We are not called to put God in a box, why would we treat ministry the same way? There is no magic formula to how to love and bless people. No matter the age, no matter the “socio-economic” state of a family, no matter how they look, no matter the color of their skin, or the language that they speak- we are simply called to love and to share the word of God. Hence, bring the Good News to the nations! How great is the opportunity to spread that Good News with a community of followers of Jesus (that just so happen to be young, lively, and highly adventurous!)?
