A lot of my Christian friends have mentioned that they are thirsty for the Word. And until this week I didn’t fully grasp that phrase or saying. While yes I’ve read the Bible and understood it’s meaning and context most of the time, I hadn’t actually had my thirst quenched by the infallible Word of our God. And what a joyful experience it is.
At the beginning of the week I got a letter from a teammate advising me to read Esther. I’ve read Esther before and understood the bravery and strength the Lord not only gave her but also to Mordecai. Reading it again and again before drifting to sleep one night, the written Word came alive in a whole new way. I was there with Esther talking to the King about lifting the ordinance against the Jews. I was sitting at the gates of the palace with Mordecai. My heart raced and I wanted to stay up all night reading the courageous stories throughout the bible. It was just ALIVE!
Then yesterday I couldn’t get Job out of my head. I began reading before bed and the same thing happened. I was witnessing the conversation between Satan and God and God fully warranting Satan to try His follower Job, as long as he didn’t cause any bodily harm to him. I was lying next to Job while he suffered the terrible disease.
This morning I decided to share this blog with you all. The Word of God is really the LIVING Word of God. My prayer for anyone reading this is that you too will find a renewed thirst for the Word of God. It is fulfilling in more ways than one.
Sending all my love- Netty
