To my family and friends,

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

This was the first bible verse that I memorized after being saved. The ‘unseen’ events in my life have proven to be of the greatest impact. After the military was no longer an option for my future, I prayed for clarity and patience in the next phase of life. He has delivered. This fall I will not be attending a university as originally planned, rather, I will be going on a journey of eternal magnitude — a nine month mission trip.  While I do have plans to finish my formal education in the future, The Lord has been leading me in this direction for several months…perhaps years if I truly could see the unseen. This summer, prior to embarking on this adventure, I will be traveling to Nicaragua for a week-long mission with a group from my church. This opportunity is a crucial stepping stone for the larger journey at hand. I could not be more thrilled for these opportunities to serve all around the world.

The nine month mission begins on September 1 of this year.  I will be traveling with an organization called Adventures in Missions (AIM) on its Passport Immersion program. I will spend three months in each of Central America, Asia, and Africa with a team of five other people. While in each of these places, we will teach English to school children assist in construction projects and build relationships with locals. The ultimate goal is that via God’s word and prayer we will share hope to people in difficult situations like human trafficking, drug addiction and homelessness. This opportunity is going to be life altering, and I am so looking forward to this deeper walk with Christ.

As I’m sure it has already run through your mind, with this trip come several needs. Prayer is my biggest request!  I covet your prayers for the health and safety of my team in our travels, and that God will use this experience to mold me into the person He desires me to be.

Your financial support is greatly appreciated as I need to raise $11,900 for this trip, with my first deadline of $6,000 dollars due June 17, and the total amount by August 18. I am asking that if you feel lead to give, you can share in this ministry by supporting me financially: you can help with a one-time gift, or with a few monthly donations up until August.
There are a few ways to give:
1.      Send me checks directly. I will forward the money to AIM.
2.      Send checks directly to AIM.  Adventures In Missions, Inc. (AIM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Checks should be payable to “Adventures in Missions”, specifying US dollars in the amount line (example: $100.00 US dollars) and return with the enclosed response card with your checks to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470.  I have enclosed a pre-addressed envelope.
3.      Donate online, by visiting my blog site at: lynnetteandersen.myadventures.org. Just click the “Support Me” link on the left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed.

I ask you to pray about this and consider if God is calling you to support me through prayer or financial support.  I am so thrilled for this amazing opportunity and how my faith will grow throughout the journey.  I would love to talk to you about this trip and the things going on in my life if you have questions.  Though I don’t know all that the Lord has planned for me, I have peace beyond all understanding that I will be living out God’s calling on my life to love on these people and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

All my love – Lynnette
