It’s hard to describe training camp as anything short of amazing. July 13th through July 20th was a week of rain, team bonding, tents, buses, hand holding, family style meals, and the presence of our amazing Father!
At training camp, we attended awesome worship services and even better sessions ranging in topic from Spiritual formation to the Kingdom Journey. Our coaches, trainers, and our mentor were phenomenal and there every step of the sometimes emotional journey of the week.
My focus here is to answer a common question I’ve been asked since committing to this journey with God- Aren’t you scared of all the dangers you will encounter?
In short, NO!
How foolish would it be for me to have fear in my heart?
Psalm 27:1- The LORD is my light and my salvation– whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life– of whom shall I be afraid?
How foolish would it be for me to doubt the calling He has placed on my heart? Our Father is Heaven is for us- none can be against us.
Deuteronomy 31:6- "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
On September 10, the Immersion squad will embark on our 9 month journey with our Father. Will there be risks? Of course there will be. But here’s how I see it- there are risks here in America every day. Americans are assimilated to this lifestyle. We have faith that we will get from point A to point B safe and sound with little trouble or obstacle.
2 Timothy 1:7- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
Am I afraid? No. Am I anxious? No. Am I hungry? Yes- for a more in depth look at our Lord’s love in every corner of the world. My identity in Christ is going to be shown to me in so many different ways- who wouldn’t be absolutely stoked!?
From one of my favorite movies: “Not all who wander are aimless. Especially those who seek truth beyond tradition. Beyond definition. Beyond the image. “
Break away from the mold. Challenge the barriers that hold you. Our God is for us- none can be against us.
