It is currently 6:40 am here in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and I’m eating the best oatmeal that I’ve ever eaten in my life. Yesterday we walked around the area of Zion’s Gate ministry and found a group of kids playing fùtbol. We gladly joined in and attempted to connect with the children. Something that I really enjoy about this culture is that the time isn’t orderly and there isn’t really a set schedule to anything. Time is measured in relationships and quality time with people. It’s wonderful.
Yesterday was a breath of fresh air. During my quiet time overlooking the mountains and city of Tegucigalpa, God revealed something to me. Colossians 3:2 commands us to “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” God has shown me that I am now 100% ready to radically change. I want nothing of myself, but everything of Christ. I’m not looking for an easy change that is convenient and quick. God wants me to be sold out for him- to live passionately seeking Him in every aspect of life. This isn’t just a trip for ministry- we are living ministry everyday. Whether we are in Honduras, Cape Coral, Crawfordville, or any other spot on this beautifully created earth, we are called to make disciples everywhere and to show the love of Christ to everyone. It shouldn’t just be something we do as a hobby. Sharing the Good News should be a focal point in our goal of actively pursuing Jesus.
And so I challenge you, dear reader, to pursue Christ in all that you do. Being involved at Church is great and provides needed community and fellowship. However, I want to ask you to break out of your comfort zone. We live comfortable lives as Americans; there is no doubt about that. Therefore, in your own backyard, go and show the love of Jesus to everyone you encounter. I love ya’ll so so much!
