For those of you who do not have the pleasure of knowing Erin, she is my darling little sister. And this blog is dedicated to her.
Today is Thursday August 26th and it is currently eight o’clock in the evening here in Talanga, Honduras. I have just walked out of our worship service put on by one of the teams. The service wasn’t normal worship with a couple of guitars however. The team in charge put together six stations all with different prayers, bible verses, and things to bring up with God. And despite my wandering mind ALL DAY- there was only one theme tonight that The Lord spoke to me- Erin.
The past couple of years I have no doubt taken my little sister for granted. I’ve fought with her like I was a toddler, I’ve not poured into her as a big sister should, I’ve been frustrated over little things that she does, and I’ve made her cry due to hurtful things I’ve said. I’ve been terrible and very harsh on Erin I have not been the big sister that she needs to talk to about anything-boys, school, church, and above all Jesus Christ.
This blog is dedicated to letting all of my closest friends and family know how wonderful Erin is. She is one of the biggest blessings in my life and right now I’m missing her more than ever before.
Erin, if you’re reading this, God loves you so much. He has created you with a servant’s heart and kindness like no other. Do not ever change from the magnificent creation you are. I love you. I will always love you- no matter what. I vow to be your big sister and embody that role in your life.
To all others reading this, I ask that you pray for my little sister right now. Pray for a peace in this last year of middle school. Pray for a renewed mind and love for Jesus Christ. Pray for a forgiving heart. Pray for health. Pray for that smile of hers to remain full and bright!
